H.Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University Educational Program 6B01703 "Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages", 6B01705-"Foreign Languages", 7M01703 "Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication", which is the most fundamental higher education institution in the western region of Kazakhstan, that occupies a special position in the Educational sphere, provides training for highly qualified specialists who meet the international requirements of competitive education is going.

 In 1992, due to the increasing influx of foreign investors into the Atyrau region, the demand for the English language major grew significantly. With the direct involvement of the University Rector, Kh.B. Tabyldiev, and the Head of the Atyrau Regional Education Department, Zh.B. Umirbekova, the English Language Section was established within the Faculty of History and Philology, and the first students were enrolled.

The teaching of specialized subjects was entrusted to such lecturers as T.Ya. Kaparullina, N.V. Naydenova, A.Zh. Kapakova, and V.A. Leonova. Due to the increase  number of students enrollment,  additional teaching staff were hired including Candidate of Philological Sciences A.S. Yeleshova from Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages; experienced school teachers from colleges, district and  city schools, including N.A. Surina, V.N. Turusheva, A.I. Leonova, A.T. Tleugalieva, Z.R. Otarova, S.K. Mukhtarova, N.B. Abdrakhmanova, G.S. Mustagaliyeva; as well as graduates who had excelled in their studies and pursued academic careers, including Zh.Zh. Nurzhanova, E.D. Abdol, A.T. Temirtasova, and G.A. Tulenova.

 The Department of "Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages" was headed by I.N. Kazachkova (1992-1995), Associate Professor A.Zh. Kapakova (1995-2010), Senior Lecturer A.T. Tleugaliyeva (2010-2012), Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Zh.Zh. Nurzhanova (2012-2013), and since 2013 by Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences E.D. Abdol. The department’s faculty includes recipients of the "Y. Altynsarin" Badge of Honor, the title "Honored Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the "A.Baitursynov" Badge, "For Merit in the development of Science" Badge of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Certificates of Honor awarded by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well of the winners of the "Best University Teacher State" in 2017 and 2018. Furthermore, researchers from the department have completed internships under the "500 Scientists" Bolashak program at the University of Leicester, UK, and at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany.

     5. With the aim of mastering modern methodologies of foreign language teaching and enhancing professional qualifications, the faculty members of the department have undertaken scientific internships and professional development courses in Malaysia, England, Portugal, France, Turkey, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia. The university provides comprehensive opportunities for students to enhance their education abroad. Within the framework of international academic mobility, students enrolled in the program can further develop their professional competencies in South Korea, the USA, China, France, Lithuania, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, as well as in leading higher education institutions across Kazakhstan.

A project funded through the university's internal grant competition. Research project titled "Modern and Digital Methods of Teaching English through Sustainable Development Goals in Enhancing Professional Competence of School Teachers." Project supervisor: Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor A.Kh. Khairzhanova.
