Admission to Bachelor’s Degree Programs

Admission Procedure

The admission procedure to Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University is carried out in accordance with established regulations.

The University admits applicants with general secondary, technical and vocational, post-secondary, and higher education in accordance with Appendix 1.

Admission Requirements

Applicants with general secondary, technical and vocational, or post-secondary education who have passed the Unified National Testing (UNT) are eligible to participate in the competition for state-funded educational grants (from the republican or local budget) and/or for tuition-based admission.

Minimum UNT score requirements:
    •    Pedagogical Sciences and Law – at least 75 points
    •    Physical Education and Sports – at least 90 points
    •    Non-pedagogical fields – at least 50 points

At least:
    •    5 points in the History of Kazakhstan and in each of the two профиль (major) subjects and/or each creative exam;
    •    3 points in Reading Literacy and Mathematical Literacy;
    •    5 points in each UNT subject and/or each creative examination.

Applicants with technical and vocational or post-secondary education applying for shortened study programs must score at least 25 points, and for Pedagogical Sciences – at least 35 points, including no less than 5 points in each UNT subject and/or creative exam.

Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan with technical and vocational, post-secondary, or higher education may enroll in shortened bachelor’s degree programs.

Admission is conducted only for full-time study.

Foreign citizens are admitted on a tuition-fee basis based on the results of an interview conducted by the Admissions Committee during the calendar year. Admission of foreign citizens is completed no later than five (5) days before the start of the next academic period.

Admission is carried out on a competitive basis in accordance with the UNT certificate (or electronic certificate published on the National Testing Center website).

Special and Creative Examinations

Admission to programs requiring special and/or creative preparation, including in Pedagogical Sciences, is conducted based on the results of special and/or creative examinations (Appendix 2).

An examination board is established by order of the Chairperson of the Management Board – Rector for the examination period.
    •    Application period for creative exams: June 20 – July 7
    •    Creative exam dates: July 8 – July 13

The schedule (format, date, time, venue, consultations) is approved by the Rector and published on the official website before the start of document submission.

Applicants must present an identity document to enter the examination room.

For Pedagogical Sciences:
    •    To participate in the state grant competition – special exam must be passed by July 13.
    •    For tuition-based admission – by August 20.
    •    The special exam is graded as “Pass” / “Fail.”

Results are announced on the day of the exam. Applicants receive an official extract from the results sheet.

Required Documents
    •    Original and copy of education certificate/diploma (with notarized translation into Kazakh or Russian for foreign citizens);
    •    Copy of identity document;
    •    4 photos (3×4 cm);
    •    Medical certificate form 075-U (Order No. 175/2020 of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan) with fluorography;
    •    UNT certificate (original);
    •    Extract from examination record (for special/creative programs);
    •    Educational grant certificate (if available);
    •    Documents confirming preferential rights and quotas (if applicable).

For college graduates and second-degree applicants:
    •    Higher education diploma with transcript;
    •    Copy of ID;
    •    3×4 cm photographs;
    •    Medical certificate (form 075-U).

Applicants may select up to four groups of educational programs within one field if the UNT subject combination matches.

Grant allocation numbers will be published on the websites of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Testing Center.

Upon receiving a grant, you choose a specific educational program within the awarded program group.
