Financial Literacy Seminar Held at Atyrau University
A scientific seminar entitled “The Formula of Financial Literacy” was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.
The event was organized with the aim of enhancing financial literacy, broadening students’ understanding of finance, investment, and taxation systems, as well as developing decision-making skills in the face of modern economic challenges. The seminar brought together regional representatives of banks and financial institutions, faculty members, and students.
The event was opened by Dr. Zita Kenzhegaliyeva, PhD, Head of the Department of Finance and Accounting of the Faculty of Economics and Law. In her opening remarks, she emphasized the growing importance of financial literacy in today’s world.
As part of the seminar, students delivered presentations on the following topics:
1. Financial Inclusion in the Development of Kazakhstan’s Financial Market (I.K. Monshak);
2. Investment Activity in Three Dimensions (A.M. Yeleussinov);
3. The Impact of Social Media on Financial Literacy (A.N. Berishkali);
4. The Role of Insurance in Ensuring Financial Security of Households (M.A. Maratova);
5. The Use of Artificial Intelligence in Accounting and Auditing: New Opportunities and Challenges (L.B. Inamatova);
6. Understanding Taxation and the Basics of Financial Management (A.M. Mukhit);
7. Financial Pyramids: How They Work, Key Features, and Ways to Identify Them (G.D. Yelemes);
8. Environmental Fines in the Republic of Kazakhstan (A.A. Baimurzayeva);
9. Financial Literacy as a Factor for Improving Quality of Life (N.Sh. Alibayev, K.A. Aibek);
10. How Does Financial Literacy Affect Entrepreneurs’ Income? (G.T. Tlegenova);
11. Financial Literacy Among the Population and Ways to Improve It (Z.K. Muratov).
In her presentation titled “How Does Financial Literacy Affect Entrepreneurs’ Income?”, third-year student of the “Business Process Accounting, Audit and Analytics” program, Gulzhaina Tlegenova, stated:
“Financial literacy is one of the essential skills needed for effective business management, optimal use of financial resources, and achieving sustainable income. In the entrepreneurial sphere, it plays a key role, as it allows one to adapt to market changes, manage resources effectively, and accurately assess the financial state of a business.”
At the end of the event, participants engaged in a Q&A session with the speakers, discussing the presented topics in a lively format. This scientific seminar provided students with an excellent opportunity to deepen their knowledge in finance and economics, while also developing practical skills.
