Collaboration initiatives between Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University
At the Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University completed a refresher course on the topic "The Digital Age of Education: MediaLiteracy and Innovative Methods of Sustainable Development."
The course, organized by Gulzhan Nursultanova, Head of theCouncil for Retraining and Advanced Training of Personnel, andEleonora Abdol, Head of the Department of Foreign LanguageTeaching Methods, Ph.D., was conducted by Perizat Elubayeva, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of Turkology andLanguage Theory at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The purpose of the course is to improve the skills of teachingstaff in the integration of language and media education within theframework of the implementation of the calendar plan of the scientificproject "methodology of integration of language and media educationin order to form media literacy as the main factor of socialization andintercultural participation of the youth of Kazakhstan (AP19680048)".
The lecturer encouraged the participants to critically analyzeinformation on social networks, avoid blind trust in unverified contentand improve digital literacy, including skills for safe use of theInternet and protection of personal data. The course program includedpractical classes on the use of artificial intelligence tools in education, demonstrating how AI can make the learning process more effective, improve the learning process and develop media literacy. It was alsoemphasized that media literacy develops over time, is formed in theprocess of constant practice and can be significantly improved throughthe integration of modern ICT tools.
The advanced training course not only strengthened the academicand scientific ties between the two universities, but also made a greatcontribution to the implementation of joint projects, created anenvironment of high-level cooperation through the exchange ofexperience, exchange of information, development of a deep, criticalview of media and digital literacy.
